At Jimbofresh, our dream is to recover the flavours of the past, when each fruit had that flavour we still remember... we want to recover the flavour of traditional melons.
In recent years, many consumers have commented that melon just doesn't taste like it used to. The main reason for this diminished flavour is the proliferation of long-life varieties on supermarket shelves. These varieties are easier to grow, they last for longer after being harvested and they look better from the outside, but all at the expense of the most important thing: the flavour.
This is why Jimbofresh decided to dedicate itself to traditional varieties.

Traditional melon varieties are easily recognised due to their aroma and the texture of the soft, juicy flesh, but above all due to their flavour. However, they require greater effort and care during production.
For these reasons, we have developed a work philosophy that involves special focus on each and every detail – complete dedication and the utmost care for the product. So, all of our crops are produced by us. They’re only cultivated in the very best fields, those that have held the secret to growing these traditional varieties for generations.

Our philosophy is the same as that instilled in us by our ancestors: bringing back the flavours that consumers crave. That sensation, now almost lost, of the intense flavour of fruit and vegetables, the flavour our grandparents tell us about with nostalgia in their eyes.
